Tolulope Adesoji is a Ph.D. candidate in environmental design and planning with a love for the environment; he embarked on his Ph.D. academic journey with a vision to contribute significantly to the sustainable development of urban landscapes. Tolu has a double master's degree in building construction science and civil engineering from Virginia Tech. Driven by the pressing challenges posed by Climate Change and Urbanization, Tolu decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Environmental Design and Planning at Virginia Tech. His research focuses on the role of citizens in resilience planning and the maintenance of green infrastructure. Tolu believes that incorporating the perspectives and actions of citizens is crucial for the success and sustainability of urban resilience initiatives.

His academic journey is dedicated to bridging theory and practice. He actively engages with communities, conducting participatory research to understand the dynamics of shaping resilience strategies. Tolu envisions a future where cities are resilient hubs of sustainability and citizens actively participate in shaping green infrastructure that sustains the environment and the communities they call home.
