Dr. Okugbe Ebiotubo Ohore is a researcher of Nigerian nationality and holds the position of Associate Professor of environmental science at Hainan Medical University. Dr Ohore is currently and Editorial baird member of Journal of Hazardous Materials and Science of the Total Environment. He has achieved remarkable academic milestones throughout his educational journey. Dr. Ohore completed his Master's degree in Public Health at Southeast University in 2017, where he gained a comprehensive understanding of public health principles and their application in environmental contexts. Building upon this foundation, he pursued a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering at Hohai University, successfully defending his doctoral thesis in 2020. During his Ph.D., Dr. Ohore focused his research on investigating the fate of environmental pollutants, with a particular emphasis on antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and their impact on microbial diversity. His research significantly advanced our understanding of the ecological implications of emerging contaminants. Following the completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Ohore embarked on a postdoctoral fellowship in Biology at Shantou University, where he further expanded his expertise in the field of environmental science. During this fellowship, his research focused on studying antibiotic pollution and antimicrobial resistance in aquatic ecosystems. He investigated the mechanisms of ecosystem shifts in freshwater systems, estuaries, and marine environments in response to antibiotic pollution. His research aimed to understand the impacts of antibiotic pollution on microbial communities and the development of antimicrobial resistance in these ecosystems. Dr. Ohore's research findings provided valuable insights into the ecological consequences of antimicrobial resistance and the mechanisms underlying ecosystem shifts in response to antibiotic pollution. His work has significant implications for environmental management and public health, contributing to the development of strategies to mitigate the spread of antimicrobial resistance and protect the health of aquatic ecosystems and the organisms that depend on them. As an Associate Professor at Hainan Medical University, Dr. Ohore plays a crucial role in mentoring and guiding students and colleagues. His extensive educational background and research experience make him a valuable resource for aspiring researchers, contributing to the overall academic excellence of the university.
